How to add video to a WordPress page

Faculty and Staff with editor access to a site.

Instructions

To embed a video or another object into a page, place its URL into the content area. Make sure the URL is on its own line and not hyperlinked (clickable when viewing the post). If WordPress fails to embed the URL, the post will contain a hyperlink to the URL.

1. Copy the URL of the video you want to embed. (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdTKlMtyELM)
2. In the WordPress editor, place your cursor where you would like the video to appear.
3. Paste the URL of the video.
4. Save your changes using the "Update" button, located in the "Publish" box.

WordPress will automatically turn the URL into a YouTube embed and provide a live preview in the visual editor.
