Question

How do I print from the bypass tray on a Toshiba printer?

Answer

Use the bypass tray on your Toshiba MFD for items such as labels, envelopes and odd size paper.

The first step is to load the paper you are using:

  1. Login to the Toshiba.
  2. Press the copy button.
  3. Open the bypass tray.
  4. Flip the green lever to the right.
  5. Insert the paper.
  6. Adjust the guides as needed.
  7. Flip the green lever back to the left.
  8. The screen will be displaying the bypass tray options.
  9. Select the paper type and size.
  10. Press OK.

When you return to your computer:

  1. Select File.
  2. Select Print.
  3. Select Printer Properties.
  4. For Paper Source: select Bypass.
  5. For Paper Type: leave as plain or select the appropriate type such as Thick 1 for labels, Thick 2 for cardstock, etc.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Print.

Most models of Toshibas will immediately release the job at this point.  If your Toshiba does not, you will see a flashing Job Status indicator on the lower right hand corner of the screen.  Once again:

  1. Login to the Toshiba.
  2. Press the copy button.
  3. Press the flashing job status indicator on the display.
  4. Press start.

**PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING LABELS**
It is not recommended to run labels through the multi-function devices more than once.
There are labels made specifically for copiers. See image below.  Do not use labels made for laser printers.
