Editing website pages in WordPress

Who can use it?

Faculty and Staff with Editor access in WordPress.

Instructions

WordPress gives you several different ways to edit pages. The two most common ways are from the Dashboard and while visiting the page. The following steps assume you are already logged in to MyBSU or MyNTC.

Visiting the Page

  1. Navigate to the page you would like to edit.
  2. Use the "Edit Page" menu item in the top bar to edit the page. The menu item will only appear if you have access to edit the page.
  3. Make your needed changes.
  4. Save the changes using the "Update" button at the top of the page.

From the Dashboard

  1. On the top bar menu, navigate to WordPress > Dashboard.
  2. On the Dashboard sidebar, navigate to Pages > All Pages. For websites with many pages you may need to use the arrow buttons on the upper right or lower right of the list to navigate through the index. When you see the page you would like to edit, use the link to open the editor for that page.
  3. Make your needed changes.
  4. Save the changes using the "Update" button at the top of the page.
