How do I connect my Mac to BSU's or NTC's wifi network?

Answer

Basic Setup via Airport Icon:

1.  Click on the airport icon and choose BSU or NTC.

2.  Enter your StarID account information and click Join.

  • StarID (for BSU students)
  • StarID@live.ntcmn.edu (for NTC students)
  • StarID@bemidjistate.edu (for BSU faculty and staff)
  • StarID@ntcmn.edu (for NTC faculty and staff)

3.  At the Verify Certificate dialog box click Show Certificate.

4.  Check under Trust that it says Always Trust. Then click Continue.

5.  It may then prompt you to enter your computers username and password. If so, Enter that information and click Update Settings.

6.  You should then see the airport icon turn to a solid black color and if you click the airport icon to show the drop down menu BSU will now have a check mark by it.

Basic Setup via Safari Network Diagnostics:

1.  Open up Safari and if your wireless is not configured for BSU you will see the notification screen that you are not connected to the Internet. Click on Network Diagnostics.

2.  The Network Diagnostics will open and ask you to Choose network port configuration. It will default to Wi-Fi. Click Continue.

3.  Under Select Wi-Fi network click to highlight BSU or NTC and click Continue. 

4.  Enter your StarID account credentials and click OK.

  • StarID (for BSU students)
  • StarID@live.ntcmn.edu (for NTC students)
  • StarID@bemidjistate.edu (for BSU faculty and staff)
  • StarID@ntcmn.edu (for NTC faculty and staff)

5.  At the “Your Internet connection appears to be working correctly” confirmation,  Click Quit.
