What should I do the first day I use Workday?

Answer

**These steps cannot be taken until Workday goes live the week of July 1, 2024, however you can practice many of these tasks in the Workday User Practice Tenant until June 28, 2024.**

All Employees:

  1. Log into Workday (on or after July 1, 2024) 
  2. Check "Notifications" 
  3. Review "My Tasks"
  4. View "Employee Profile" 
  5. Personalize "Home" page 
  6. Review Time and Absence applications  
    1. Review and correct schedule, if needed 
    2. Submit time off for dates on or after 7/3/24, as applicable 
  7. Access/manage delegations, as appropriate 
  8. Download Workday mobile app (if desired) 

Supervisors: 

  1. Verify your team information (e.g. org chart, direct reports, etc.) 
  2. Assign schedules or create custom schedules to match your employees' current schedules, as appropriate
  3. (Re)approve time off requests for dates on or after 7/3/24, as needed
