Introduction
The Integrated Statewide Records System (ISRS) is the current cornerstone data system used to perform finance, human resources and student-related services across the Minnesota State system, including BSU & NTC. However, Minnesota State is in the process of transitioning to Workday, a cloud-based system with an intuitive interface and mobile capabilities that encourages collaboration and will evolve in the years to come through regular updates. Workday will be implemented in two phases, the first will include finance and human capital management (HR-related processes), which will go live in July 2024.
Question
When will Workday Student go live?
Answer
The scope and timeline for the implementation of Workday Student have not been announced. In December 2023, the following information was shared by Brent Glass, Minnesota State's NextGen Student Implementation Lead:
"The next step with the NextGen student is negotiating the statement of work. We have already conducted the RFP for student and Workday was chosen as the vendor. Once the statement of work is negotiated then the project will start. I can’t really give you a detailed timeline of when the statement of work will be executed since that will be determined by the negotiations."
Although we do not yet know the scope and timeline, faculty and staff interested in learning more about Workday Student can self-enroll into a D2L Brightspace course, Welcome to Workday Student, which includes previously-recorded sessions that demonstrate some of the Workday Student functionality.
