Use a D2L Shell for Advising
Some faculty have found it helpful to have a D2L shell for academic advising purposes. This allows you to contact your advisees, gather documents, give feedback, and post information in one location. If you would like a D2L shell for advising, please follow the instructions below.
Download a List of Advisees to a CSV File
- Login to MyBSU
- Select the menu in the top left and select Navigate in the Services section
- In Navigate, on the home page, for Relationship Type, select Advisor
- Check the box next to NAME to select all advisees
- Select the arrow next to Actions & select Export Results
- Select First Name, Last Name, & Student Alternate ID.
- Select Export.
Request a D2L Shell or Update a Shell
- Send an email to Beth Jensen (beth.jensen@bemidjistate.edu) asking for a new advising shell or asking her to update your advisee list
- Attach your CSV file list of advisees to the email
