Question

How do I set up my TV in my dorm room?

Answer

The residence halls offer cable television service to all residential students.

Your TV will need to have a coaxial input, and you’ll need to provide your own “coax” cable too.

Coax cable

  • Connect your TV to your room’s wall-jack with the coax cable.  Some coax cables are threaded, so make sure you tighten the connection.
  • Set the TV to analog input not digital.
  • From your TV’s setup menu, run the auto-channel setup process to automatically load available channels.   You will see about 70 available channels.
  • If scanning for over-the-air digital channels, you may only receive one or two selections.
