Before you turn in your BSU/NTC issued iPhone or iPad please turn off the Find My [device]

Answer

To turn off Find My on an iPhone or iPad do the following:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap [your name] at the top of the screen.
3. Tap Find My.
4. Tap Find my [device], then turn off Find My [device]

Why does BSU/NTC need me to turn off Find My on my iPhone or iPad when I turn it in?

• A factory restore does not disable Find My [device]. Only turning it off before the device was restored, or knowing the password to the Apple ID that enabled it.
• Turning it off before you return the device just means we (ITS) will not have to track you down to have you turn it off, or have a lengthy process of working with Apple to prove we own the device to have it disabled.
