Memorial 260 and 280: Active Learning Classrooms

Memorial 260 and 280 are active learning classrooms that seat 48 people and are equipped with two projectors, eight student monitors, sound system, document camera, Blu-ray player, and a touch screen control system.

Connecting a Laptop 
  1. Wake up the touch screen panel by tapping it anywhere. Tap the screen again to reveal the sources/destinations screen if not shown.
  2. Connect the HDMI cable to the correct port on the laptop. A USB-C adaptor is provided.
  3. Tap the Instructor Source button on the touch panel, then tap the small circular "Cntrls" button inside the instructor source button. A small pop-up appears asking whether you want to show the HDMI or the Doc Cam. For the laptop, choose HDMI.
  4. Tap the icons for the student stations and main projector screens you wish to send the laptop content to. Tap the Send to ALL button (top right) to send the content to both projectors and all the TV screens. If you don't want the content on all TV screens, just tap the two projector screen icons (left and right). Each icon will have a light green shadow if it is active and selected.
  5. The icon for each station display will show the icon for the source selected to be shown. Up to three different sources can be shown on different displays.
  6. Press the Room Speakers icon to send audio to the speakers. The Send to ALL button does this automatically. Adjust the volume using the controls on the touch panel.

Using Breakout Mode (student stations using TV monitors)
  1. Wake up the touch screen panel by tapping it anywhere. Tap the screen again to reveal the sources/destinations screen if not shown.
  2. Tap the Breakout Mode button in the Destinations section. This will allow each student station the control/option to show the input of a laptop connected to their table's TV display. A cable with a USB-C adaptor is provided at each table. 
Sharing student station content with other stations

This is useful if you want the entire class (or specific stations) to see what is being shared on any given student station TV display.

  1. Wake up the touch screen panel by tapping it anywhere. Tap the screen again to reveal the sources/destinations screen if not shown.
  2. Tap the Breakout Mode button in the Destinations section. This will allow each student station to show the input of a laptop connected at the wall under their corresponding TV. A cable with a USB-C adaptor is provided at each table. 
  3. Select the student table content you want shown elsewhere by tapping the corresponding student table number in the lower left of the touch panel. Then choose the destination(s) for that content, or choose Send to ALL. The number corresponding to the sharing table will appear in the center of any other display icon you select as a destination.
Using the Blu-ray player
  1. Tap the BluRay source button, then chose your display destination(s). Tap the Send to ALL button to send the image to both projectors and all the TV screens.
  2. The icon for each station display will show the icon for the source selected to be shown.
  3. Press the Room Speakers icon to send audio to the speakers. The Send to ALL button does this automatically. Adjust the volume using the controls on the touch panel.
  4. To access the Blu-ray player controls, tap the small circular "Cntrls" button inside the BluRay source button.
Using the document camera
  1. Tap the Instructor Source button on the touch panel, then press the buttons for the screens to send the image to. Press the Send to ALL button to send the image to both projectors and all the TV screens. Small green text on the button will show whether the laptop or doc cam will be shown. If you need to change which will be shown, press the small circle labeled Cntrls in the Instructor Source button and choose Doc Cam.
  2. Turn on the document camera and position the item you want displayed under the lens. You may need to adjust the focus, zoom, and lighting.
Using the microphone
  1. Press the power button on the side of the microphone to turn it on.
  2. Clip the microphone to your lapel or collar, pointing towards your mouth.
  3. Adjust the volume on the touch panel.
  4. Press the power button to mute the microphone. A red light will show that the microphone is muted.
  5. Press and hold the power button to turn the microphone off.
Turn off system
  1. Press the shut down button on the touch screen panel.
  2. Confirm or cancel the shutdown. The touch screen panel will go into sleep mode a few minutes after the system is shutdown.
