Question
How do I change or reset my StarID password?
Answer
Your StarID password can be changed (if you know your current password) or reset (if you have forgotten it or are unable to sign in).
Option 1: Change Your Password Before It Expires
If you have received an email notification that your StarID password will expire soon and you still know your current password, you can change it before it expires.
- Go to the StarID Portal.
- Select Sign in to Profile.
- Sign in using your StarID and current StarID password.
- Select Change StarID Password.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter your new password and confirm it by entering it a second time.
- Submit the change.
Changing your password before it expires can help prevent future login issues and avoids the need to complete a password reset.
Option 2: Reset Your Password
If you have forgotten your password, your password has expired, or you are unable to sign in to the StarID portal, you can reset your password.
- Go to the StarID Portal.
- Select Reset My Password.
Recommended Method: I Know My Email Address
This is the quickest and easiest password recovery method.
- Select I Know My Email Address.
- Enter the personal email address on file with BSU or NTC.
- Follow the prompts to receive a verification code.
- Create a new password.
Alternative Method: I Know My Tech ID
If you no longer have access to the personal email account on file or do not remember which email address was used:
- Select I Know My Tech ID.
- Enter your 8-digit Tech ID number.
- Answer the required security questions.
- Follow the prompts to create a new password.
