How do I connect to a network drive on a Mac?

Answer

  1. Click the Go menu up in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select Connect to Server or use the keyboard shortcut command + k.
    • To connect to your Group Drive:  Type in Server Address: smb://files02.bemidji.bemidjistate.edu
    • To connect to your Personal Storage:  Type in Server Address: smb://filestor.bemidji.bemidjistate.edu
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Enter in your credentials.
  5. Click OK.
  6. This will add a network storage icon on your desktop.

Create an Alias for a connected network drive:

  • While holding option + command.
  • Click on the connected network drive on your desktop and drag it to another location, then release.
