HMU South Conference Room: Smart Room Instructions

The HMU South Conference Room seats 9 people and is equipped for videoconferencing.

Connecting a laptop via cable (TV HDMI input 1)

  1. Turn on the TV by pressing the power button on the SHARP remote.
  2. Press the small input button (to the right of the channel button) on the TV remote, and ensure the TV is on HDMI 1.

  3. Connect the HDMI cable that extends from the wall plate to the laptop. An HDMI-to-USB-C port adapter is available.
  4. If the laptop display is not shown, configure the laptop to send output to a second display (keyboard shortcut: Windows key + P)

Using the videoconferencing bar below the TV

  1. Follow the steps above to connect your laptop to the TV via the HDMI cable.
  2. Plug the other cable (USB-C) into another open port on the laptop (Both HDMI and USB-C cables should now be connected).
  3. Open Zoom and start your meeting.
  4. When prompted to choose your devices, select the Yamaha CS-700 for your microphone and speaker, and the CS-700 as your camera.

  5. Adjust incoming voice sound using your laptop volume control.

Connecting a laptop wirelessly (TV HDMI input 3)

  1. Your device must be on a BSU wireless network for this input to work (Typically "BSU" or "BSU-Conference").
  2. Turn on the TV by pressing the power button on the remote.
  3. Press the small input button (to the right of the channel button) on the TV remote, and ensure the TV is on HDMI 3.

  4. An Airtame screen will appear with a web URL and a code to enter at that URL (www.airtame.com/go).
  5. Enter the code on the web site and then choose what you want to share on your laptop. Ensure you have selected to share audio if that is your intent.

Turn off the TV

  1. Press the power button on the remote to turn off the TV. Carefully coil up the HDMI cable and place it on the hook, being careful not to kink or yank the cable or the USB-C adapter.
