Memorial 300 is a Zoom room seating 20 people around a conference table.

Two ways to connect

With the HDMI cable (for in-room presenting only)

  • Start the system by tapping the small flip-up Crestron touch panel.

  • Tap the screen again to see your input options on the left.

  • Note that one of the input options may already be BLUE. Please ignore this, as you still need to select the Laptop input to get the TVs in the room to turn on.
  • Tap the Laptop input button to turn on the TVs.
  • Plug the HDMI cable into your laptop and your desktop will be duplicated on both TV screens.

Using Zoom sharing or hosting a Zoom meeting (cable-free)

  • No need to connect your laptop to the HDMI cable. In fact, it's better if you don't.
  • Tap the Room PC input button (even if it is already blue).
  • The TVs in the room should turn on and you should see the familiar BSU Zoom background image on the TVs.
  • Turn your attention to the larger Zoom touch controller. From here, you can start a new meeting, join a meeting to which the room was invited, or simply share content wirelessly through Zoom sharing.

Sharing in the room without a Zoom meeting

  • Tap the blue Share icon on the Zoom touch controller. You'll be presented with a sharing code.
  • Open the Zoom Workplace app on your laptop, and click the Share screen icon. Enter the sharing code.
  • This is a wireless way to share your screen in the room with no Zoom audience.

Running a Zoom meeting

  • Tap the orange New meeting icon, or the Join icon (case dependent) on the Zoom touch controller. If you have invited the room to your meeting, you can Start the meeting from the list of upcoming meetings on the left side of the Zoom touch controller.
  • The room camera is mounted on the north end below the TV and will start automatically, but you can turn it off if you don't need it. The room microphones and speakers are pre-selected and are "always on" unless you mute the room microphone on the Zoom touch controller.
  • Remember that anyone who joins the Zoom meeting from their own laptop (including the host) and is IN THE ROOM, must leave computer audio to prevent endless audio looping and feedback. Muting is not sufficient. The room microphones will pick up everyone around the table, without needing to turn on additional laptop mics.
    • As you are joining a meeting, you can select No audio when asked which audio devices to connect.
    • If you have already joined the meeting, click the caret next to the microphone icon, and select Leave computer audio.

Please shut down this room when done. It is the only way to turn the TVs off.

  • Tap the small power icon at the top right of the Crestron flip-up touch panel. Confirm the shutdown. The TVs will turn off, and the rest of the system will enter sleep mode.
