How do I give students feedback on their assignments?
Answer
You can give feedback to students by using the Assignments tool.
*Set Up Folders and Enter Feedback
- Select Assignments on the Navbar
- Select New Assignment
- Enter a Name for the assignment. NOTE: Use letters and numbers for folder titles. Do not use characters, such as the period (.) or pound sign (#).
- Select Save and Close.
View Submissions to the Folder
To view student submissions, select the name of the folder.
Evaluate Student Work
- Select Go to Evaluation to the right of a student’s name
- On the left side of the page, select the student’s file to view it. You can use the annotation tools in the document viewer to mark up the paper. Select the download icon in the far right of the document viewer to download the file.
- On the right side of the screen, complete your evaluation and feedback:
- If you have attached a Rubric to the assignment, select the Rubric to expand the criteria and select the levels achieved.
- If you have set up the folder with a grade item or point value, enter the student’s score.
- [optional] Add comments in the Overall Feedback box.
- [optional] Use the buttons below Overall Feedback to upload a file, attach a link, record audio or record video.
- When finished, select Publish or Save Draft. If you save feedback as a draft, be sure to publish all feedback when you are ready for students to see the feedback.
- Select the arrow at the top or bottom of the page to move to the next student.
