There is a feature available in D2L for instructors to create their own Development (DEV) shells.
- Each instructor can create up to ten development shells
- You will be enrolled in the development shell with the instructor role
- If you need more than ten development shells or need a role other than instructor, contact your D2L administrator
How to Request a DEV Shell
- Log in to D2L
- Scroll down to the lower right side of the page to find the Request Help widget
- Select the menu button in the upper left of the widget
- Select Dev Course Request
- Select the plus sign in the upper right to create a new request
- Enter the course name and select Submit. (The course name will be prefixed with βDEV:β automatically.)
- The status will be updated to Submitted. You will receive an email when your request has been completed in the system. This only takes a few minutes.
- After your request has been completed, you will find your new development shell in the My Courses widget.
- You may need to filter your widget to the βDevelopmentβ heading.
- You may need to refresh your page before your shell appears.
