What is this?
ITS defines a project as a temporary endeavor with a start and finish, undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. ITS projects require technology resources and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Project cost >$5,000
- Resource time exceeds 40 hours
- Brings a new service to the IT service catalog
- Project FTEs required from two or more internal (ITS) departments and/or across two or more divisions and/or colleges;
- Discretion of the CIO
A project is different from an operational service request. A project is an endeavor that is temporary in nature, that is undertaken to produce a unique product. Operations are ongoing execution of activities that occur after a project or product is implemented to produce the same result or a repetitive service. Operational service requests are available in the Service Catalog.
